<p> Der Name des Clubs hat sich geändert; er heisst jetzt Sirena. Wie mir ein Besucher bestätigte, der zuletzt im Jan 2002 hier war, ist die folgende Clubbeschreibung noch immer zutreffend<!--more-->: An der Straße zwischen Sosua und Puerto Plata. Fahren Sie mit einem Sammeltaxi (Carro/Colectivo) in Richtung &#8211;&gt; Puerto Plata und lassen Sie sich vor dem Night Club absetzen.</p>
<p>Lesen Sie bitte die Einführung zum Bericht über Puerto Plata, um besser über das Fahren mit/in Sammeltaxis informiert zu sein.</p>
<p>Das Mermaid liegt schräg gegenüber den <a href="http://www.xenoconex.de/Dominicana/discoclubs.htm">Cabañas Paraiso</a> und das hat einige Vorteile. Hierzu lesen Sie bitte die Beschreibung des Berichtes über das Paraiso.</p>

Grund: Der Club ist bei Touristen so gut wie unbekannt und Dominikaner haben einfach nicht genug Geld, um oft und regelmäßig auszugehen.</p>
<p>Setzen Sie sich unbehelligt alleine an einen kleinen runden Tisch mit 4 Stühlchen, am besten an einen, wo links und rechts neben Ihnen niemand am Tisch sitzt. Bestellen Sie sich eine Cerveca Presidente oder ein Gedeck, das übliche Servicio.</p>
<p>Es dauert nicht lange, da werden sich Mädchen auf einen Stuhl am freien Nachbartisch setzen und <a href="http://www.xenoconex.de/Dominicana/Betania/Betania01.html" target="fn">Augenkontakt wie diesen</a> zu Ihnen suchen. Gibt es etwas Schöneres als so dezent angemacht zu werden? Wenn es Ihnen gefällt, dann lächeln Sie dem Mädchen zu und sie wird zu Ihnen an den Tisch kommen und fragen, ob sie einen Schluck von Ihrem Getränk haben kann oder um eine Zigarette bitten.<br />

Das hauseigene Vertretermagazin schwärmte anschließend von einem &#8220;Mordsspaß&#8221;.<span id="more-76"></span></p>
<p>Doch genau so eine Feier hat die Vertriebsorganisation HMI des Versicherungskonzerns, der inzwischen im <a title="Ergo" href="http://www.spiegel.de/thema/ergo_versicherungsgruppe/" target="_self">Ergo</a>-Konzern aufgegangen ist, seinen besten hundert Vertretern nach Informationen des &#8220;Handelsblatts&#8221; im Juni 2007 spendiert. Dazu habe die Versicherung die traditionsreiche Gellert-Therme in Budapest angemietet und die historische Anlage in ein Freiluftbordell verwandelt. Die Wirtschaftszeitung beruft sich auf mehrere Teilnehmer, die zum Teil eidestattliche Erklärungen abgegeben hätten.</p>
<p>&#8220;Am Eingang wurden ich und die anderen Teilnehmer durchsucht, wie bei einer Sicherheitskontrolle am Flughafen&#8221;, versicherte einer der Gäste laut &#8220;Handelsblatt&#8221; an Eides statt. Es sei &#8220;bei Strafe verboten&#8221; gewesen, Fotos oder Filme von der Veranstaltung zu machen. Nach dem Einlass, zitiert die Zeitung einen anderen Teilnehmer, &#8220;kamen die Damen und zeigten uns, was sie hatten. Allen Beteiligten war klar, dass es sich um Nutten handelte&#8221;.</p>
<p>Ein Ergo-Sprecher bestätigte SPIEGEL ONLINE, dass die Sex-Party stattgefunden hat. Dem &#8220;Handelsblatt&#8221; sagte eine Sprecherin: &#8220;Es ist richtig, dass es im Juni 2007 eine Incentive-Reise nach Budapest gegeben hat. Unsere Recherchen haben ergeben, dass bei einer Abendveranstaltung im Rahmen dieser Reise circa 20 Prostituierte anwesend waren.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Damen mit weißen Bändern reserviert für Vorstände</strong></p>
<p>Laut &#8220;Handelsblatt&#8221; waren die Frauen farblich markiert. &#8220;Die Damen trugen rote und gelbe Bändchen&#8221;, wird ein Gast zitiert. &#8220;Die einen waren als Hostessen anwesend, die anderen würden sämtliche Wünsche erfüllen. Es gab auch Damen mit weißen Bändchen. Die waren aber reserviert für die Vorstände und die allerbesten Vertriebler.&#8221;</p>
<p>Sogar mit Tüchern verhängte Himmelbetten wurden laut &#8220;Handelsblatt&#8221; in der Therme aufgestellt. &#8220;Jeder konnte mit einer der Damen auf eines der Betten gehen und tun was er wollte&#8221;, habe ein Teilnehmer berichtet. &#8220;Die Damen wurden nach jedem solcher Treffen mit einem Stempel auf ihrem Unterarm abgestempelt. So wurde festgehalten, welche Dame wie oft frequentiert wurde.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Der Ergo-Sprecher nannte die Ereignisse &#8220;nicht tolerabel&#8221; und &#8220;einen gravierenden Verstoß gegen geltende Richtlinien des Unternehmens&#8221; Inzwischen seien die verantwortliche Führungskraft und das verantwortliche Vorstandsmitglied aus dem Unternehmen ausgeschieden. Teilnehmer berichten jedoch laut &#8220;Handelsblatt&#8221;, dass viele der damals anwesenden Generalrepräsentanten und Führungskräfte noch heute für das Unternehmen tätig seien.</strong></p>
<p>Der Ergo-Sprecher sagte SPIEGEL ONLINE, bereits bei der Hauptversammlung der Ergo-Mutter Munich Re vor einem Monat sei das Thema zur Sprache gekommen, daraufhin habe man recherchiert &#8211; und die Vorwürfe bestätigt gefunden. &#8220;Wir prüfen jetzt weitere Veranstaltungen der HMI. Nach derzeitigem Kenntnisstand handelt es sich aber um einen Einzelfall.&#8221;</p>
<p>Das &#8220;Handelsblatt&#8221; zitiert zudem einen begeisterten Bericht, der im Vertriebspartner-Magazin &#8220;HMI Profil&#8221; erschienen sein soll. &#8220;Unglaublich, was man in der HMI wirklich erleben kann&#8221;, habe es dort geheißen. &#8220;Aus welchem Blickwinkel auch immer man diese Mega-Fete betrachtete, ein Mordsspaß war es auf alle Fälle.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>What is it like to be a prostitute?</strong> The answer depends on whether you work out of a client’s car or a  $500-a-night hotel room. In 1999, I set out to study the effects of  efforts to bring the suburban middle class back to New York City. The  gentrification of Times Square made for a unique social experiment: What  happens to sex workers when they are pushed off the streets and into  the outer boroughs? I had little idea at the time that I’d be  documenting the rise of an entirely new, upper-end “indoor” market, in  which streetwalkers have given way to a professional class.<span id="more-72"></span></p>
<p>The economies of big cities have been reshaped by a demand for  high-end entertainment, cuisine, and “wellness” goods. In the process,  “dating,” “massage,” “escort,” and “dancing” have replaced hustling and  streetwalking. A luxury brand has been born.</p>
<p>These changes have made sex for hire more expensive. But luxe pricing  has in turn helped make prostitution, well… somewhat respectable.  Whereas men once looked for a secretive tryst, now they seek a mistress  with no strings attached, a “girlfriend experience,” and they are  willing to pay top dollar for it.</p>
<p>Technology has played a fundamental role in this change. No  self-respecting cosmopolitan man looking for an evening of companionship  is going to lean out his car window and call out to a woman at a  traffic light. The Internet and the rise of mobile phones have enabled  some sex workers to professionalize their trade. Today they can control  their image, set their prices, and sidestep some of the pimps, madams,  and other intermediaries who once took a share of the revenue. As the  trade has grown less risky and more lucrative, it has attracted some  middle-class women seeking quick tax-free income.</p>
<p>I followed 290 women, 170 of whom made enough (at least $30,000) to  separate them from streetwalkers. I spent at least 12 months earning  their trust, trying not to ask a lot of prying questions. Once they  realized I wasn’t a cop or social worker, they usually told me their  stories. I focused on financial questions first, because it made them  feel validated as workers. How much did you earn this week? What  expenses did you have? Do you save any money?</p>
<p>The figures on the next page highlight some of the contrasts between  old-world prostitutes and new-age sex workers. Yet they also suggest  that some things haven’t changed: Even women who don’t work on the  street report hiding their activities from their families and being  abused.</p>

<p>More than 60 percent of women in the high-end trade have worked with  escort agencies. Men like going through the agencies because it feels  less dirty and because they can often write off the expense. (For  example, the agency might give them an “entertainment” receipt that  includes dinner, hotel, and other seemingly legitimate costs.) But many  sex workers hate agencies because they take a cut without providing much  security or support. So a lot of women self-incorporate and create a  fake agency web page with swiped photos that make it appear as though  they are part of a bigger operation.</p>

<p>Of the escorts I talked to, 63 percent had moved to New York City  from another state after high school. But people rarely come to the big  city to become prostitutes: Nearly all have held a legitimate job, but  not necessarily the glamorous one they came to New York to get. Three  worked as street vendors. Two appeared on daytime soap operas.</p>

<p>It’s hard out there for a pimp—especially now. Changes in the sex  industry have rendered them superfluous. I met 11 pimps working out of  midtown Manhattan in 1999, and all were out of work within four years.  One enlisted in the military; two have been homeless. Only one now has a  full-time job, working as a janitor in a charter school. I asked one of  them how pimping experience helps him in the legit economy: “You learn  one thing,” he said. “For a good blow job, a man will do just about  anything. What can I do with that knowledge? I have no idea.”</p>

<p>Of the women I talked to, 61 percent said they’ve used craigslist, mostly for advertising. But even before <a href="http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/09/craigslist-adult-congress/">the crackdown</a> on the site’s adult-services section, sex workers were turning to  Facebook: 83 percent have a Facebook page, and I estimate that by the  end of 2011, Facebook will be the leading on-line recruitment space.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>No more will soldiers&#8217; vision be limited to the socket-embedded  spheres that God intended. The Pentagon now wants troops to see dangers  lurking behind them in real time, and be able to tell if an object a  kilometer away is a walking stick or an AK-47. <span id="more-65"></span>In a solicitation  released today, Darpa, the Pentagon&#8217;s far-out research branch, unveiled  the Soldier Centric Imaging via Computational Cameras effort, or  SCENICC. Imagine a suite of cameras that digitally capture a  kilometer-wide, 360-degree sphere, representing the image in 3-D onto a  wearable eyepiece.</p>
<p>You&#8217;d be able to literally see all around you,  including behind yourself, and zooming in at will, creating a  &#8220;stereoscopic/binocular system, simultaneously providing 10x zoom to  both eyes.&#8221; And you would do this all hands-free, apparently by barking  out or pre-programming a command (the solicitation leaves it up to a  designer&#8217;s imagination) to adjust focus.</p>
<p>Then comes the  Terminator-vision. Darpa wants the eyepiece to include &#8220;high-resolution  computer-enhanced imagery as well as task-specific non-image data  products such as mission data overlays, threat warnings/alerts,  targeting assistance, etc.&#8221; Target identified: Sarah Connor&#8230; The &#8220;Full  Sphere Awareness&#8221; tool will provide soldiers with &#8220;muzzle flash  detection,&#8221; &#8220;projectile tracking&#8221; and &#8220;object recognition/labeling,&#8221;  basically pointing key information out to them.</p>
<p>And an &#8220;integrated weapon sighting&#8221; function locks your gun on your target when acquired. That&#8217;s far beyond an <a href="http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/08/iphone-app-tracks-battle-buddies-rifle-mount-optional/" target="new">app mounted on your rifle</a> that keeps track of where your friendlies and enemies are.</p>
<p>The  imaging wouldn&#8217;t just be limited to what any individual soldier sees.  SCENICC envisions a &#8220;networked optical sensing capability&#8221; that fuses  images taken from nodes worn by &#8220;collections of soldiers and/or unmanned  vehicles.&#8221; The Warrior-Alpha drone overhead? Its full-motion video and  still images would be sent into your eyepiece.</p>
<p>It also has to be  ridiculously lightweight, weighing less than 700 grams for the entire  system &#8212; including a battery powerful enough to &#8220;exceed 24 hours  [usage] under normal conditions.&#8221; That&#8217;s about a pound and a half,  maximum. The Army&#8217;s experimental ensemble of wearable gadgets weighs  about eight pounds. And it is to SCENICC what your Roomba is to the  T-1000.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how far advanced SCENICC is compared to  bleeding-edge imaging and networking capabilities that the Army is  currently developing. Right now, the Army&#8217;s asking three different  companies &#8212; Raytheon, Rockwell Collins and General Dynamics &#8212; to build  a <a href="http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/10/tomorrows-troops-will-be-covered-in-gadgets-the-army-hopes/" target="new">wearable platform</a> of digital maps, computers and radios, networked with one another.  Soldiers would have warzone maps beamed onto helmet-mounted eyepieces.</p>
<p>The  system, known as Nett Warrior, needs to weigh less than eight pounds,  and it builds on a years-long and ultimately fruitless effort called  Land Warrior. (One of the problems with Land Warrior is it was heavy and  cumbersome, owing in part to battery weight.) The Army hopes to choose  one of the Nett Warrior designs by March.</p>
<p>By the time it&#8217;ll  actually roll out Nett Warrior after testing, production and deployment  &#8212; a few years, optimistically &#8212; SCENICC will already be hard at work  on its replacement. Darpa wants a hands-free zooming function within two  years of work on the contract. By year three, the computer-enhanced  vision tool needs to be ready. Year four is for 360-degree vision. Then  it&#8217;s on to development.</p>
<p>The Army is generally hot for  combat-ready smartphones to keep soldiers linked up with each other. And  the buzz-generating tool for the soldier of the near future is mapping  technology, delivered onto a smartphone or some other handheld mobile  device, at least judging from this year&#8217;s Association of the U.S. Army  confab.</p>
<p>But all of these representation tools are  two-dimensional, and require soldiers to look away from their patrols in  order to use them. Textron&#8217;s SoldierEyes Common Operating Picture, for  instance, lets soldiers see icons on a tablet-mounted map telling them  where their friends, enemies and neutrals are. It can&#8217;t put those icons  onto a 3-D picture sent to a soldier&#8217;s eyes, let alone allow a 10x zoom  for a kilo-wide 360-degree field of vision. Why would anyone use a map  on a smartphone when they could have SCENICC?</p>
<p>Even with all the  advances in digital imaging, it&#8217;ll be a tall order to put together  360-degree vision and 10x zoom and mapping software and integration with  weapons systems and lightweight miniaturization and network  connectivity.</p>
<p>Darpa doesn&#8217;t really address how the system&#8217;s  networked optics would work in low-bandwidth areas like, say, eastern  Afghanistan (though maybe <a href="http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/10/armys-drones-get-new-add-ons-radars-self-landing-cellular-coverage/" target="new">drone-borne cell towers</a> can help).</p>
<p>Indeed,  judging from the solicitation, while SCENICC is supposed to be  networked, it doesn&#8217;t seem to have any communications requirements for  soldiers to talk through what their optics are sharing with each other.  Maybe there&#8217;s a role for those <a href="http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/10/special-forces-want-android-apps-for-warzone-john-maddens/" target="new">new soldier smartphones</a> after all.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A Cuban government-run website has begun translating into Spanish and  posting online leaked U.S. government cables that discuss the island  nation.&#8221;Las Razones de Cuba&#8221; or &#8220;Cuba&#8217;s Reasons&#8221; has as of  Friday published seven cables originally released by WikiLeaks, the  group whose leaks of confidential documents has been deeply embarrassing  for U.S. officials.<span id="more-68"></span></p>
<p>The translated cables detail meetings  between independent Cuban bloggers with officials from the United States  Interests Section, the U.S. diplomatic mission in Cuba. According  to the &#8220;Cuba&#8217;s Reasons&#8221; website, the cables show an attempt by U.S.  officials to &#8220;organize youth networks to subvert the Cuban Revolution.&#8221; The website promised to continue posting the leaked cables. Other  cables released by WikiLeaks that detail U.S. officials&#8217; speculation on  former President Fidel Castro&#8217;s health and Cuba&#8217;s economic woes have  not been posted on the site. According to the website, WikLeaks possesses 2,080 cables that mention Cuba. Excerpts  of some of WikiLeaks the cables have previously been published on Cuban  government websites and in state newspapers. Although Cubans have  access to the web in internet cafes and in some workplaces and schools,  the internet is not widely available on the island.</p>

Das berichten die Zeitungen der WAZ-Mediengruppe (Freitagsausgaben). <span id="more-58"></span>So hieß es, in Essen seien vor drei Jahren 1,2 Millionen Menschen auf dem Techno-Event gewesen. Nach Dortmund sollen vor zwei Jahren 1,6 Millionen gekommen sein, in Duisburg sprach man von 1,4 Millionen Menschen. Aus einem &#8220;streng vertraulichen&#8221; Dokument des Loveparade-Veranstalters Lopavent gehe hervor, dass diese Zahlen übertrieben und nicht korrekt seien. In dem 34 Seiten starken Papier, das den Zeitungen der WAZ-Mediengruppe vorliege, heiße es, die tatsächlichen Zahlen hätten &#8220;keinen Bezug zur offiziellen Besucherzahl für mediale Zwecke&#8221;. Die &#8220;öffentliche Besucherzahl&#8221; werde &#8220;nach anderen Kriterien&#8221; als die Wirklichkeit ermittelt. Wie es in dem Papier weiter heiße, werde zur Ermittlung der &#8220;öffentlichen Besucherzahl&#8221; die Zahl der tatsächlich erwarteten Besucher verdreifacht. Die tatsächliche Zahl der Loveparade-Besucher sei damit von allen Stellen angeblich bewusst verschwiegen und die Öffentlichkeit mit falschen Zahlen versorgt worden. In Duisburg habe Lopavent die Verantwortlichen der Stadt angehalten, die tatsächlichen Angaben unter allen Umständen geheim zu halten: &#8220;Eine Veröffentlichung dieser Zahlen könnte dem öffentlichen Ansehen der Veranstaltung immensen Schaden zuführen, was sicher weder im Interesse des Veranstalters liegt noch im Interesse der Stadt Duisburg.&#8221; In der vertraulichen Analyse der Besucherzahl heiße es im Falle Duisburgs, dass zur Loveparade maximal 485.000 Besucher über den Tag verteilt erwartet würden. In Spitzenzeiten wurde mit maximal 235.000 Zuschauern gerechnet.</p>

<div id="ymain">Armer Lothar! Nur wenige Monate nach dem Liebescomeback mit seiner    Liliana tanzt ihm die 22-Jährige jetzt scheinbar schon wieder auf der    Nase rum. An Bord einer Luxus-Jacht vor Sardinien soll <a href="http://de.lifestyle.yahoo.com/19072010/442/t0/nette-biest.html"><img src="http://d.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/xp/ylstyle/20100719/15/2195758883-nette-biest-m.jpg" alt="" /></a>sich seine    junge Ehefrau mit einem attraktiven Unbekannten vergnügt haben.    Augenzeugen beobachteten die beiden beim vertrauten Sonnenbaden.</p>
<p>Lothar Matthäus (49) erfuhr vom geheimen Liebes-Urlaub seiner Frau    erst von &#8220;Bild&#8221; und äußerte sich tief gekränkt gegenüber der    Boulevard-Zeitung: „Als sie auf die Schnauze gefallen ist, habe ich    sie wieder aufgenommen. Jetzt sticht sie mir so in den Rücken. Das    ist sehr verletzend.“</p>
<p>Das ehemalige Fußball-Idol scheint viel zu gut für das Society-Model    zu sein. Immer wieder hat der &#8211; immer noch amtierende &#8211; deutsche    Rekordnationalspieler der schönen Liliana verziehen. Doch beim    Anblick der Bilder, die seine Frau offenbar beim Fremdflirten zeigen,    platzt Lothar der Kragen: „Wenn das so ist, wie es aussieht, gibt es    kein Zurück mehr. Dann ist es vorbei.“</p>
<p>Doch &#8220;Alles aus&#8221; hieß es bei dem Promi-Paar schon häufiger. Amors    Pfeil traf beide auf dem Oktoberfest 2007. Im Februar 2008 folgt die    erste Trennung, kurz darauf die Versöhung und wenige Monate später    eine erneute Krise &#8211; Lothar glaubt schon damals, dass Liliana ihn    betrügt. Am Neujahrstag 2009 läuten schließlich in Las Vegas die    Hochzeitsglocken.</p>
<p>Doch nur ein Jahr später gibt das Model aus München die Trennung    bekannt. Schmerzlich muss sie feststellen: Ohne Lothar ist sie in der    High Society plötzlich nicht mehr willkommen. Was folgt ist keine    Überraschung: die große Versöhnung.</p>
<p>Hier weiß offenbar jemand nicht richtig was er will. Als Türöffner in    die Glamour-Welt scheint Lothar Liliana gut genug zu sein, doch fürs    Herz sucht die Dame wohl noch jemand anderen&#8230;</p>
